We hope that all of you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! We have had a great time in the neighborhood this holiday season!
The Garden Club Progressive Dinner was a huge success! It was a wonderful time hanging out with neighbors and eating delicious food! Thanks to all of the volunteers, donations and thanks to all that came! Here are a few pictures of the party goers!
We also decorated the Welcome Triangle with lights this year. Even though they are no longer working, we had a good time putting them up! Here are a few pictures of the volunteers hard at work and the lights at night! We hope to make this a bigger event next year!
Howdy White City Neighbors!

SEPETEMBER 26 BLOCK PARTY! 11-2 @ BRADEN PARK!!!!!!!!!!!
The baptist and presbyterian churches have contacted me to participate again this year and they had the super idea of everyone donating a can of food for the food pantry. This is super on point because SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL HUNGER AWARENESS MONTH! Let’s all show some white city love by bringing at least 1 can a piece.
In the anticipation of everyone having the best time possible, I thought I might put a little check list together on what you might want to bring for the big day.
Chairs to sit in to relax while visiting and listening to live music!
Wallet for food or Raffle tickets
Canned item for food drive
Old children’s books for the book exchange
On another neighborhood matter, a Senior Traffic Operations Engineer is wanting our feed back on the improvements to 4th Place a few years back. Being that my house on 5th, I’m not sure what to tell her. I’ve included her note to me below. Please feel free to let me know if you have an opinion on the subject that you would like heard.
“Early 2012 I had worked with you to get a public meeting going to discuss striping options on 4th place from Yale to Sheridan. I am in the process of analyzing the before and after traffic data to see what affect the design may have had on traffic volumes, speeds and see if more bicyclists are utilizing the street. I was wondering if you could happen to speak on the neighborhoods thoughts.”
On a personal note, my beautiful little cottage will be on the market ASAP. If you have any friends looking to be in this sweet community, let me know! As well as if any of you know someone or would like to yourself take over the President position.
“White City, Tulsa’s Best Kept Secret”
Hello White City!
PLEASE SAVE SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26 FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY!!! More details to follow. We have started the planning process. If you have some ideas, would like to help, or contribute please let me know!!! I welcome everyone’s ideas!
Also, another thoughtful neighbor emailed me about the alert neighbor signs.
Our “Alert Neighbor” signs generally run-down, he contacted Bart at the Crime Commission concerning a new sign and found out that the rectangular signs currently in use, have been replaced by a larger sign affixed lower on the pole.
They cost $30.00 each with installation performed by the city on the pole/sign designated by the purchaser. This 4 star neighbor bought one which is mounted on the stop sign across the street from me at 602 South Erie. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD CONTRIBUTION!
Dear Neighbors and Friends,
We’re happy to announce the Annual White City Block Party!
This year’s party will be on September 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
There will be games and activities for young and old. The Garden Club will have a bake sale, and Yale Avenue Presbyterian Church will be selling hotdogs at price so low we dare not mention it!
We have some wonderful items and services donated for the silent auction. Whether you’re seeking art, music, help with your garden project or need a legal opinion, we’ve got you covered!
We’re also happy to unveil the new White City logos designed by our own Paul Sousa. These great emblems will be on tote bags and t-shirts for purchase from the WCNA.
Whether you’re a kid or kid-at-heart, there will be plenty for you to enjoy!
